Gesher (Hebrew for "Bridge"), founded in 1970 by Dr. Daniel Tropper, is dedicated to bridging the gap between diverse segments of Israeli society. Gesher’s mission is to build Jewish unity by holding a collective mirror before Israel’s highly varied society to reveal that we share one Jewish heritage and one common destiny.
To build this bridge of true mutual respect and understanding, Gesher has developed a series of innovative programs using methods of informal education. These include workshops, simulations, teacher training, curriculum development, interactive activities and films, which reach 70,000 Israelis annually, including teens, adults, native Israelis and new immigrants. Our programs promote Jewish identity and teach mutual understanding and tolerance thus impacting upon the current and future leadership of Israel.
Gesher celebrates a decade of making a difference in 2011, and marks ten years of transformational activities with the IDF.
